Zithromax is used to treat infections resulting from pathogenic bacterial infections. The most common of these cases are:
Infection causing inflammation of the skin and soft tissues.
Inflammation of the middle ear and upper respiratory tract.
Throat and tonsils infection.
Uncomplicated venereal diseases resulting from infection with Chlamydia trachomatis.
Preventing infection with some microbes associated with acquired immunodeficiency (HIV).
